Conquer the best off-road routes in Zagreb

From the Markuševec quarry to an epic 48-kilometre adventure towards Pokupsko.

Zagreb isn't just a city of asphalt, crowds and a hurried pace. For those who know where to look, an incredible world of raw nature, mud, steep climbs and adrenaline hides just minutes from the bustle of the city.

If you're after a first-class weekend outing and you've typed "quad rental Zagreb" or "quad trails around Zagreb" into your search bar, get ready for a guide that will completely change your definition of a good time.

Forget dull, flat gravel roads. Today we take you through a detailed look at the two most exciting off-road routes you can ride with our fleet of 10 powerful machines. Whether you're craving technical climbs on the slopes of Medvednica starting from the iconic Markuševec quarry, or you're ready for a serious, long-haul expedition of nearly 48 kilometres from our base in Veliko Polje all the way to the banks of the Kupa river — we have the exact route and the perfect quad for you.

A vertical challenge: from Markuševec quarry to the summit of Sljeme

When it comes to testing your own skills and the capabilities of your vehicle, the northern slopes of Zagreb offer terrain that doesn't forgive mistakes but rewards you with spectacular views. The route that begins at the imposing Markuševec quarry and leads towards the summit of Medvednica is not for the faint of heart — it's for true adrenaline addicts.

Why is this route such a special experience?

The starting point itself — the monumental cuts of the Markuševec quarry — is visually stunning and makes you feel as though you've stepped onto the set of an action film. The terrain bares its teeth right away. Forget fine soil; under your wheels you'll have sharp rocks, deep ruts left by forestry tractors and steep climbs that demand maximum concentration.

As you climb towards the summit of Sljeme, the hard surface gives way to dense forest and the air temperature drops sharply. This is where the "active riding" technique comes into its own — you'll need to use your body weight, lean forward on steep climbs and balance the quad through tight switchbacks.

Which quad from our fleet should you choose?

For terrain this technically demanding, with so many narrow passages, our Segway AT5L models are the ideal choice (available in eye-catching orange and white). Their electronic power steering (EPS) turns a hard fight with the rocks into child's play, and the aggressive power delivery is perfect for sudden climbs.

On the other hand, if you want to bring raw, brutal power to the summit of Sljeme, our Linhai 1000 will handle this climb as if it were driving on a flat road. Because the top of Medvednica can be quite chilly even in spring, this is where the front and rear cases fitted to every single quad in our fleet come in handy. You can easily stow warmer jackets, water and spare clothing in them without anything getting in the way while you ride.

An epic expedition south: 48 km of mud and freedom

If the climb up Sljeme tests your technique, our southern route tests your endurance, your adventurous spirit and your love of serious mud. We present a route that starts literally from our backyard in Veliko Polje and takes you into the heart of untouched nature south of Zagreb.

Anatomy of the route — 47.92 km of pure enjoyment

This isn't a quick spin around the block. It's a serious expedition of 47.92 kilometres one way, with a total elevation gain of 577 metres. What does that mean in practice? A full-day adventure awaits you through the rolling hills of the Vukomeričke gorice, descents through dense forests full of natural obstacles, crossings of hidden streams and long gravel straights where you can feel real speed.

The route takes you all the way to the D36 state road and drops you straight onto the banks of the Kupa river near Pokupsko. This terrain is characterised by wide plains and, most importantly, fantastic muddy sections that linger for weeks after rain.

The ultimate test for rider and machine

For this epic distance, comfort and ruggedness are key. Our recommendation for this route is the indestructible Linhai 550L in black or the aggressive Linhai 650 Landforce in camouflage. Thanks to their extended chassis and top-class suspension, these quads devour the kilometres and the bumps without tiring the rider.

When you finally reach the Kupa river, covered in mud and grinning from ear to ear, you'll appreciate the true value of the spacious cases. Pull out a portable barbecue, towels and cold drinks, switch off the engines and enjoy the perfect riverside picnic before setting off on the nearly 48 km journey back to base. Thanks to its length and openness, this route is our absolute favourite for group rides and team-building events.

Perfectionism that guarantees your safety

Taking on the sharp rocks of Markuševec or a 100-kilometre round trip to Pokupsko demands absolute trust in the machine you're riding. That's why we leave no room for compromise in how we operate.

Through 16 years of professional work and perfectionism in the automotive industry, we've learned that every detail matters. We apply that same meticulous approach to our stable of quads. Each of our 10 machines undergoes rigorous checks before we hand you the keys. Suspension, brakes, drive belts and fluid levels — everything is in factory condition, and the vehicles await you spotlessly clean, ready for you to get them dirty.

Your only obligation is to bring a valid category B driving licence and to wear layered sportswear and sturdy footwear. We provide the top-quality protective helmets.

Don't just dream about the adventure — book it

Google Maps images and GPS trackers can only give you a rough idea of what awaits you. The real feeling only comes once you're in the seat, feeling the engine vibrate and heading for the forest.

Our location in Veliko Polje lets you avoid the city crowds and start your off-road story in just a few minutes, whether you're aiming south towards the Kupa or planning a transfer up to the slopes of Sljeme. Leave the asphalt behind you, fill your lungs with fresh air and experience Zagreb and its surroundings in the wildest, muddiest and most fun way possible.
